The Ames Machine story.

Ralph Ames founded Ralph E. Ames Machine Works, Inc., in Westchester, California, in 1942. In those days there was no such thing as a “Vision Statement.” There was, however, a simple principle that guided Ralph in his fledgling enterprise: “To provide the quality and reliability that is essential for success in the growing aerospace industry.”

"We provide the quality and reliability that is essential for success in the aerospace industry."

- Ralph E. Ames, Founder

Today, nearly eighty years later, that same dedication to quality and integrity is more relevant than ever and guides the third generation of Ames at Ames Machine. “With 45,000 square feet and 41 state-of-the-art CNC machines, Ames Machine is a top-rated supplier to many major manufacturing firms in the U.S. In fact, we have parts on every commercial and business jet on earth, and on every F16 and F18 fighter jet,” says Mike Ames, president. “Our dedication to our customers is evidenced by our 98% on-time delivery record and our 99.6% overall quality acceptance rating.” Our modern facilities and excellent ratings are a direct result of the total commitment to quality and customer service at Ames Machine.

Ames Machine ships tens of thousands of precision-machined parts and assemblies each year using an advanced, internal MRP system to track the workflow through the cell-based manufacturing floor. In addition, Ames Machine uses an EDI system linked to our customers’ internal data to forecast requirements and schedule our workload. This advanced capability allows Ames Machine to provide multiple deliveries at the lowest possible cost for our long-term customer requirements.
